Little Treasure Chests

I was looking through photos and came across this one I took a few weeks ago. Accessories can really finish off an outfit; like the icing on the cake as they say. I always think accessory collections are like little treasure chests, don't you agree?! Here's just a sneak peak at some of mine.

Pink Floral Scarf (TopShop), Green Scarf (H&M), Pink Podka Dot Scarf (Zara), Feather Hairband (Accessorize). Coloured necklace (H&M), Leaf Necklace (TopShop) and Cuff (Warehouse) as seen recently. Leopard Bag (River Island) as seen recently, Gold Bag (Accessorize), Black Bag (TopShop),
Blue Bag (River Island), Beaded Bag (Howth Market).

Simple Tradition

Every year come christmas time, there's one thing I always do and that is treat myself to a new pair of pyjamas. So simple but I love doing it. Having mentioned this to a few people, it seems that a lot of girls out there do the same thing. Anyways, I never thought I'd be posting about pyjamas but I thought I'd share my little christmas tradition with you. Some years I go festive in colour or pattern but this time round I went for a very colourful pair that just shout 'Spring' to me. Maybe its from looking at all the spring/summer collections but I just couldn't resist the pretty, bright colours. Have you any simple traditions at christmas?

(Set is from Dunnes Stores)

The christmas spirit has definitely spread into our office this week.
Third day running and there's cakes for the taking. I'm not usually a cake person but I couldn't resist these treats - they had holly on them after all.

Not to mention all the christmas music on in the office. Big thanks to my friend's in Warner Music who sent over some surprise musical treats to listen to. The jingle bells (literally) went down a treat.

Mad About Mad Men Fashion

For those avid fans of the styling from the classy hit television series Mad Men which is set in an chic advertisement agency in the 60’s, I highly recommend you take a look at The Fashion File. This is a illustrated hardback that offers advice, tips & inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men, Janie Bryant. Not only does it brush on memorable Mad Men stories but you get glimpses of what it was like behind the dressing room doors.

Although it very much focuses on the 60’s Mad Men styling, it advises the readers on how to adapt the clothing to match their own personal style while the illustrations in the book are simply beautiful. I personally loved some of the evening dresses worn by Betty on the show so I would have loved to see some more images from the shows outfits in the book. I can only hope she brings out a second book with these in it.

For those who are looking forward to seeing the 5th series on your screens, its looks like it's set to air again mid 2012 in Ireland with its release on dvd late in 2012.  Until then, this is a perfect coffee table book to keep you entertained.

Here are some pictures of some of the styling in the series.
Personally I prefer Betty's styling the most but we all have our preferences. It's just so ladylike and fun. Whose styling do you prefer most?

With christmas around the corner, I thought it would be fun to do a little wish list of some things I had my eye on so here they are.

Festive Fairytale Feeling

For anyone who isn't feeling the christmas spirit just yet, I advise a walk down Dublin's Grafton Street and have a look at the fabulous window displays by Brown Thomas. Their window displays never disappoint and their current displays will no doubt get you in that festive feeling!

  Just beautiful...

...with exquisite detail.
